Official sounds the alarm: gas cylinder certification violations occur with consent of drivers and businesses
If the technical inspection of motor vehicles or the periodic certification of gas cylinders installed on them is not properly conducted, yet the data is entered into the system, this occurs with the mutual consent of unscrupulous business operators and citizens. This was stated by Arayik Stepanyan, Head of the Department of Motor Transport Policy, Licensing, and Permits at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, during a meeting with journalists.
According to Stepanyan, the ministry plans to tighten control over business entities and impose sanctions in cases of violations.
“We intend to strengthen oversight of business entities and apply sanctions where necessary. I also want to urge drivers to take the certification process seriously, since gas cylinders are equipment that can pose serious risks, including explosions,” Stepanyan emphasized.
He noted that drivers pay licensed organizations for these services and should therefore insist on proper and safe certification procedures.
