Court continues to reject change of Vazgen Saghatelyan’s preventive measure

Tigran Abrahamyan, Secretary of the I Have Honor faction in the National Assembly of Armenia, has met with Vazgen Saghatelyan at the Armavir Penitentiary.

According to Abrahamyan, Saghatelyan’s detention is legally unjustified and politically motivated.

“Vazgen’s detention, which is inexplicable from a legal standpoint and politically glaring, is a constant reminder of the practice of political reprisals in the country,” Abrahamyan wrote.

He added that the court continues to reject requests to change Saghatelyan’s preventive measure, noting that detention in this case is effectively being used as a form of punishment.

“Freedom to all political prisoners,” Abrahamyan said.
