Pension increase could lead to 0.2% inflation

Pensions in Armenia will increase starting April 1. For 623,353 people, pensions will rise by 10,000 drams or more, while for 39,594 people the increase will be about 8,500 drams.

This increase, however, could also become a factor contributing to inflation.

Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia, Martin Galstyan, told reporters that the bank has already included this development among the inflationary factors.

“Yes, according to our assessment, it could lead to 0.2% inflation,” Galstyan said.
