Iran confirms killing of Supreme National Security Council Secretary Larijani

Iranian state media has confirmed reports that the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, and the commander of the Basij paramilitary force, Gholamreza Soleimani, have been killed.

Larijani is the second highest-ranking Iranian official to have been killed in Israeli and U.S. strikes, after Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

Israel’s Defense Minister announced yesterday that Larijani had been killed in Israeli strikes.
