“Are you going and becoming an independent state or becoming a citizen of Azerbaijan?” – Ararat Mirzoyan demands clarification on Artsakh return right

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has called for clarity on how the right of return to Artsakh will be implemented.

“Let’s say they open the doors and say, ‘Come,’ and people who wish to return go there. Please tell me – are you returning as an independent state, or are you becoming a citizen of Azerbaijan with an Azerbaijani passport? You attend schools where there will be no Armenian language. There are dozens of similar questions,” he said in a conversation with reporters.

According to Mirzoyan, much depends on how this question is answered.

“Can it be that the bar for these people is dozens of times lower than the bar we were talking about? I’m afraid that if it turns out that way, this is precisely why these people don’t specify in any way,” he said.
