Western actors encourage the rise of dictatorship in Armenia and the “funeral” of Democracy – Tigran Abrahamyan

According to Tigran Abrahamyan, Secretary of the National Assembly’s “I Have Honor” faction, the authorities label the ongoing process as an election, but interpret and apply laws selectively to secure desired outcomes.

He noted that, driven by political expediency, law enforcement targets individuals arbitrarily, regardless of the charges or circumstances.

“I’m not even referring to the fact that the entire state apparatus has been mobilized to serve the interests of a specific political group rather than the state. Western actors and institutions, by patronizing the authorities and overlooking serious human rights violations, are effectively encouraging the rise of a dictatorship in Armenia and the “funeral” of democracy,” Abrahamyan noted.
