Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant taken offline for five months

The Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant has been taken offline for a five-month period starting April 1, RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan announced during a government session.

The shutdown is part of the plant’s operational lifetime extension program.

“Most likely, our solar plants will generate as much electricity in 2026 as the nuclear power plant,” the minister noted.
