Artur Aleksanyan takes a break from his career

Olympic champion, two-time Olympic silver medalist and bronze medalist, four-time world champion, and seven-time European champion Artur Aleksanyan has temporarily suspended his competitive appearances, Armsport.am reports.

The renowned Armenian wrestler (97 kg) will not take part in upcoming tournaments, including the European Championship.

This was announced on Channel One by Armen Babalaryan, head coach of the Armenian national Greco-Roman wrestling team.

According to the coach, Aleksanyan is currently undergoing treatment. In his absence, Hayk Khloyan, the U23 world champion, will represent Armenia in the 97 kg weight category.
