Kazakhstan denies talks on acquiring Russian concession for Armenian railways

Kazakhstan is not currently holding negotiations on acquiring a Russian concession to manage Armenia’s railways, according to statements from Kazakh Railways and the country’s Ministry of Transport, cited by Interfax-Kazakhstan.

“Kazakh Railways has not received any official documents regarding Kazakhstan’s acquisition of a Russian concession for the management of Armenian railways,” the company said.

The Kazakh Ministry of Transport likewise stated that “no negotiations are currently underway on this matter.”

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Yerevan would not oppose such a deal, provided it is agreed upon by Russia.
