The capitulator is preparing to ‘tailor a suit for Aliyev” out of our Constitution: Serzh Sargsyan

The office of the third President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, has highlighted the key points from his speech at the 18th Congress of the Republican Party of Armenia.

“1. Can you imagine? Those who brought war are now searching for those who bring war. Those who surrendered Artsakh are looking for those who would surrender Artsakh. Though why am I surprised – those who brought Nikol are still searching for those who bring Nikol.

2. We must not hesitate; we are obliged to speak about our mistakes and failures. This is not the first such case. By the example of our party, we can say that analyzing mistakes does not weaken – it strengthens.

3. We, the opposition, remained fragmented, distrustful of one another, burdened by past contradictions, while the ship continues to sink.

4. Our national forces, over these years, acted as separate segments opposing rulers behaving as traitors to the homeland, yet we failed to become a unified alternative.

5. The capitulator once claimed that the current Constitution was ‘a suit tailored for Serzh Sargsyan,’ and now, suddenly, he is preparing to tailor our Constitution into a ‘suit’ for Aliyev.

6. We must also ask ourselves why the international community is acting this way. The answer is harsh: because Armenia has lost its dignity.

7. I have made mistakes, like any person on this earth, but I have also made decisions that delivered real results for my country and people.

8. Yes, we, the Republicans, are not perfect, but we are honest – honest with our past, our present, and the challenges ahead. We are honest with ourselves and with our people.

9. The Republican Party of 2026 is not the Republican Party of 2016. We are more experienced, wiser, more consolidated and resilient, and more realistic.

10. We are who we are – with our past and present, with our values and our faith. We are God-loving – and what are you? We belong to our people – and to whom do you belong? We are Armenians – and who are you,” Sargsyan declared at the congress.
