Bright Armenia Party to participate in parliamentary elections
The Bright Armenia Party will take part in the June 7 parliamentary elections.
Party chairman Edmon Marukyan announced that over the past six months the party has made efforts to ensure the opposition would run with a unified front; however, those attempts were unsuccessful.
He also noted that the party has not yet announced its candidate for prime minister.
It should be recalled that former ruling party member Hovik Aghazaryan initiated a process of expressing no confidence in Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Together with independent MP Hakob Aslanyan, who was expelled from the Civil Contract faction, he established the “MASK” party and stated that they have nominated Edmon Marukyan for the post of prime minister.
