I urge pensioners not to listen to those who discourage them from traveling – Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan commented on his earlier statement that pensioners could use their pensions to buy a ticket to Larnaca.

“This has sparked heated discussions. Recently, during visits to the regions, many pensioners told us that they used to spend 30-40 thousand drams on medicines, but now, with the availability of health insurance, this money remains in their pockets.

From April 1, pensions have increased by 10 thousand drams, and there is also the possibility of refunds – sometimes 5 thousand, sometimes 7 thousand, sometimes 10 thousand drams. That means that with 20 thousand drams, one can clearly afford a ticket to Larnaca costing 3-10 euros. The money previously spent on medicines can now be redirected to daily expenses and other needs. I would like to sincerely call on our pensioners not to listen to those who oppose such ideas and to start traveling, because I believe that, like pensioners in many countries, our pensioners can also travel, even in very modest ways,” Pashinyan said.
