20 million drams is enough, we have petitioned for the house arrest to be lifted – Khachik Galstyan’s lawyer (video)

Khachik Galstyan’s lawyer Arsen Babayan stated that there had been extensive discussions regarding the issue of his client’s preventive measure.

“We presented arguments that, in fact, there are no grounds for extending the preventive measure. At the moment, a bail of 20 million drams and house arrest are applied to Khachik Galstyan.

We have petitioned for the house arrest to be lifted completely. If the court finds that there is a need, it will leave the 20 million drams unchanged. That is completely sufficient,” the lawyer noted.

Khachik Galstyan, a doctor of political science, is accused of distributing electoral bribes to voters during the snap elections held in Vagharshapat in November 2025.

Galstyan was arrested on December 30, 2025. In the same criminal proceedings, Aram Kocharyan was also arrested on the same day. Later, the preventive measures applied to Galstyan and Kocharyan were changed to house arrest.
