Government ratifies Board of Peace Charter: it will be submitted to National Assembly

The Government ratified the Charter of the Board of Peace at today’s session.

To assess the compliance of the obligations set out in the Charter with the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, the Government will apply to the Constitutional Court of Armenia.
The Charter was signed by the Republic of Armenia on January 22, 2026.

According to the draft submitted to the executive by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan, the Board of Peace is an international organization whose main goal is to promote stability and ensure peace in conflict-affected territories.

The draft also states that the Charter of the Board of Peace enters into force once three states agree to recognize it as having binding force for them.

The draft will be submitted to the National Assembly for ratification.
