“They are still establishing guidelines and hiding security issues” – Arman Tatoyan (Video)

Arman Tatoyan, chairman of the “Wings of Unity” party, has criticized the authorities over the level of public information regarding the Armenia-Azerbaijan delimitation and demarcation process.

According to him, the public recently learned about the presence of an Azerbaijani aircraft at Zvartnots Airport, while no official explanation was provided regarding its purpose.

“Yesterday we woke up and saw an Azerbaijani plane at Zvartnots Airport, and we could only guess what that plane was doing in Yerevan. Later that day, the authorities announced that a session of the demarcation commission between Armenia and Azerbaijan had taken place, but that statement did not contain any information about what the commission discussed,” Tatoyan said.

He stressed that the issue of border demarcation is of vital importance for national security and that the public has the right to be informed about its details.

“Why don’t you publish information? The statement of that commission only says that they have agreed to instruct governments to establish guidelines,” he noted.

Tatoyan called for greater transparency in processes related to security matters, arguing that society has the right to know what is happening in decisions of strategic importance.
