We’ve handled even more difficult issues – Papoyan confident “Jermuk” exports to Russia will resume soon

All issues related to Jermuk will be resolved, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan said in a conversation with reporters, commenting on the ban on the product’s sale in Russia.

“We’ve handled even more difficult issues. Everything will be resolved,” Papoyan stated.

He added that he does not see any political context in the matter.

“I do not see any issues. For example, we are currently conducting inspections of certain products – I have suspended some brandy exporters for checks. After all, we are a state, and products leaving our country must meet high quality standards. I am confident that our ‘Jermuk’ is of high quality and complies with all standards. I have no doubt that this issue will be resolved,” Papoyan said.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia had blocked the sale and circulation of an additional one million bottles of “Jermuk.”

The restrictions were introduced following inspections of batches produced between October 23, 2025, and March 27, 2026.

Previously, the Russian side had also banned the sale of 338,000 bottles of “Jermuk” in Russia.
