Ilham Aliyev, participating in the 8th European Political Community summit via videoconference, said that Armenia and Azerbaijan have been “living in peace and learning to live in peace” for more than nine months.

He stated that in August last year, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a joint declaration in Washington, which was also witnessed by Donald Trump, adding that “peace is already a reality for both us and our Armenian partners.”

Ilham Aliyev noted that since then, several thousand tons of cargo and oil products have been delivered to Armenia from Azerbaijan.

“Trump’s route will pass through Armenia to Nakhichevan and will become part of the Middle Corridor,” he said.

Referring to Artsakh, he said: “In September 2023, Azerbaijan ended separatism in Karabakh.”

He added that Azerbaijan remains committed to the peace agenda “despite attempts to disrupt the process,” noting that this was also reflected in the speech of his Armenian counterpart.

Finally, Ilham Aliyev invited participants to the next European Political Community summit to be held in Azerbaijan in May 2028, stating that Armenia had also supported Baku’s candidacy.
