“We need 2-3 guarantors who will ensure the protection of Armenia’s territorial integrity in the event of possible attacks”

During this government’s tenure, there have been three wars, and he (ed. Pashinyan) was unprepared as a negotiator, said Narek Karapetyan, a member of the “Strong Armenia” council, during a meeting in the Agarak community.

“They should have prepared while still in the opposition. In general, people should prepare while in opposition so that when they come to power, they are ready to negotiate. He started the negotiations from scratch,” Karapetyan noted.

He stated that if they come to power, they will not begin the process from zero.

“We are entering during the period of signing the peace treaty, and it will continue from that point. We will not act the way Pashinyan did,” he said.

Karapetyan added, however, that certain preconditions are necessary.

“We are saying: will Iran or the United States sign on as guarantors of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia? We want more than one guarantor. If a guarantor faces internal conflict, it will naturally prioritize its own problems. That is why we need 2-3 guarantors. We see the possibility of having three,” he said.
