Direct trade between Armenia and Turkey officially launched: Ministry of Economy appeals to business community

The Armenian Ministry of Economy has issued an appeal to the business community following the launch of direct trade between Armenia and Turkey.

“As of May 11, 2026, direct trade between Armenia and Turkey has officially commenced.

As a result, new opportunities have been created for direct commodity circulation between the two countries, which will contribute to a significant reduction in transportation costs and delivery times, while also expanding access to new markets and business cooperation opportunities.

At the same time, in cases where transportation is carried out through the territory of third countries, the country of origin or final destination of the goods may now officially be indicated as ‘Armenia’ or ‘Turkey.’

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Special Envoy of the Republic of Armenia for Armenia-Turkey relations Ruben Rubinyan announced that direct trade between Armenia and Turkey, without any re-formulations, has become possible in the customs sense.

“We welcome Turkey’s decision to lift the bans on bilateral trade with Armenia, which is another outcome of the normalization process of relations between Armenia and Turkey.
