A meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council convened at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

According to Aysor.am, a meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council has been convened today at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, chaired by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.

The meeting is being held in a one-day format.

The previous session of the Supreme Spiritual Council took place on March 10-13, following which the Council issued a statement.

The Supreme Spiritual Council is the highest executive body of authority within the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church. The Council is chaired by the Catholicos of All Armenians.

The Council consists of high-ranking clergy and lay members. Some members are elected by the National Church Assembly, while others are appointed by the Catholicos of All Armenians.

Meetings of the Supreme Spiritual Council are held at least twice a year and, when necessary, may be convened more frequently.
