We discussed with His Holiness that those attacking the Church will not be happy soon – Samvel Karapetyan

It was a friendly visit by His Holiness, and no political issues were discussed, since both His Holiness and I are under illegal persecution, said Samvel Karapetyan, candidate for Prime Minister of the “Strong Armenia” bloc, referring to the visit of the Catholicos.

Karapetyan stressed that the visit of His Holiness had no political context.

“We discussed national issues, unity, matters related to the preservation of identity, as well as the attacks on the Church, and expressed hope that very soon all of this will stop, and those who are responsible will not be very happy about it,” he said, sharing details of the meeting.

A few days earlier, His Holiness Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians, visited Samvel Karapetyan, who is under house arrest.
