EU demands Yerevan to sever centuries-old religious and spiritual ties with Moscow – Russian Foreign Intelligence Service

The EU leadership, according to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, has intensified efforts to push the Russian Orthodox Church out of Armenia, demanding that Yerevan completely sever centuries-old religious and spiritual ties with Moscow, TASS reported.

“Euro-antichrists have targeted the Russian Orthodox Church in Armenia. According to information reaching the service, the EU leadership has aggressively begun to push the Russian Orthodox Church out of Armenia. As a mandatory condition for European integration, the Armenian authorities are being asked to completely sever centuries-old religious and spiritual ties with Moscow,” the report states.

According to the same report, EU representatives are also attempting to restrict the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church diocese in Armenia, including limiting its access to church property and obstructing its engagement with the Armenian Apostolic Church.

“EU representatives are trying to deprive the diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church in Armenia of the right to use church real estate, as well as hinder its dialogue with local religious structures, primarily the Armenian Apostolic Church,” the statement said.
