International observation mission avoids calling elections “free and fair”
Representatives of the international observation mission in Yerevan were asked by journalists whether they would characterize the Armenian elections as free and fair.
“I have served as an observer in different countries several times, and this question has been raised many times. We, as international observers, present what we observe in a factual manner and compare it with the international standards that the state has committed itself to. Only the people of the country can determine whether the elections were free and fair or not. We present the information,” said Farah Karimi, Special Coordinator of the international observation mission.
