The Central Electoral Commission granted the motions to strip Davit Ghazinyan of his immunity and initiate criminal prosecution against him (Video)

The Central Electoral Commission granted the motions submitted by the Prosecutor’s Office against Davit Ghazinyan. Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the defense team of the Strong Armenia Party member Davit Ghazinyan, told reporters.

“It is unreasonable to have any legal expectations from the Central Electoral Commission. This structure does not seek to maintain any legal basis. Two motions were submitted, and the Central Electoral Commission granted both of them,” Vardevanyan said, noting that the court will next consider the issue of restricting Ghazinyan’s freedom.

According to Vardevanyan, the accusation against Davit Ghazinyan concerns the alleged preparation of an election bribe.

“The content of the accusation is politically motivated. I have never seen such a motion before,” he stated.
