Yerevan should completely switch to electric public transport

The purchase of electric buses is planned. Currently, the issue of acquiring electric buses is under consideration by the government’s investment committee, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan said during a session of the Yerevan Council of Elders.

“It is proposed that we purchase 12-meter electric buses instead of 18-meter buses. We will complete the necessary analysis in the near future. Going forward, Yerevan will neither purchase nor operate any type of public transport other than electric vehicles.

Our long-term strategy is to fully transition the city of Yerevan to electric public transport,” Tigran Avinyan said.
