Yerevan is in the process of choosing its development path – Peskov

Yerevan is currently in the process of choosing its development path, which is important for Moscow, as Russia and Armenia are fraternal countries, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said, according to a TASS correspondent.

“We see that Armenia and its leadership are now at a crossroads. The Armenian leadership is speaking about an upcoming choice regarding the country’s development path. This is important for us, because Russia and Armenia have been neighbors and fraternal countries for centuries,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

According to Peskov, Moscow and Yerevan are linked by strong integration ties that contribute to Armenia’s economic growth, and the EAEU remains Armenia’s best option among integration associations.

Peskov also stressed that relations between Russia and Armenia will continue to develop.

“We will normalize our relations with Armenia; we have much in common. We are a major investor in Armenia, so there is much work to be done, and our relations will continue to develop,” Peskov told reporters.
