Fierce battles are underway in Yerevan against the Artsakh flag

Fierce battles are underway in Yerevan against the Artsakh flag, the ARF Youth Union of Armenia announced.

“For three days, the Artsakh flag, which was installed at France Square by citizens in 2022, has been removed by direct order of the Yerevan Municipality.

Members of the ARF Youth Union of Armenia have immediately restored the flag on every occasion.

Yesterday evening, after the flag was removed for the third time, two members of the ARF Youth Union of Armenia were illegally detained while attempting to restore it.

Let us note that a reality has emerged in Armenia in which Armenian youth are detained for waving the Artsakh flag.

This is not just another incident; it is yet another attack on our national symbols.

The fight against the Artsakh flag is, in fact, a fight against Armenian memory, history, and values, and it most clearly exposes the anti-national nature of the current government.

No matter how much they try to erase national memory, the homeland we will build through our struggle will be founded on our values and historical truth. And in that homeland, the Artsakh flag will always hold its worthy and irreplaceable place as a symbol of struggle, memory, and national dignity,” the statement says.
