Nikol Pashinyan to travel to Iran to attend Seyed Ali Khamenei’s funeral

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will travel to Iran to attend the funeral of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

According to ISNA news agency, Armenian-American member of the Iranian parliament Ara Shahverdyan informed the agency about Pashinyan’s participation.

“During the meeting between Iranian Vice President Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi and Pashinyan, the Armenian leader expressed his willingness to attend the funeral,” Shahverdyan noted.

Ali Khamenei, who was killed in late February by Israeli and US strikes, will be buried on July 9. The funeral and burial ceremonies will start on July 4.
