Acting Gyumri Mayor Avetis Arakelyan declines parliamentary mandate

Acting Gyumri Mayor Avetis Arakelyan has submitted an application to decline his parliamentary mandate.

Speaking to reporters, Arakelyan said he had discussed the decision with both Vardan Ghukasyan and Narek Karapetyan, a member of the Strong Armenia party.

“If I had taken the mandate, the city could have collapsed, which was unacceptable for both me and my political team,” Arakelyan said.
