The release of Armenian prisoners of war held in Baku should become a priority of state and national policy: Eduard Sharmazanov

The U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee has called on Azerbaijan to release Armenian prisoners of war held in Baku.

The call by the U.S. House of Representatives to release Armenian prisoners of war held in Baku deserves a high and positive assessment, said Eduard Sharmazanov, a member of the Supreme Body of the Republican Party of Armenia and former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

“This initiative is extremely important and demonstrates that there are figures in both the Republican and Democratic parties in the U.S. who condemn this inhumane act by Baku.

The issue of releasing Armenian prisoners of war held in Baku should become a primary component of our state and national policy,” Sharmazanov noted.
