Food Safety Inspection Body denies: no evidence of the use of milk from sick animals was found

The Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia, within the framework of its annual inspection program and in response to consumer complaints, regularly carries out control measures at all dairy production facilities in Armenia.

If non-compliance is detected during inspections, the Inspection Body suspends the operations of the respective facility until the violations are eliminated, while dangerous batches are withdrawn from circulation and destroyed.

Although the Russian side has not yet provided the results of the joint inspection conducted by specialists from the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor) and the Food Safety Inspection Body at four Armenian dairy organizations from July 14 to 21, the Armenian body states that the inspection found no evidence justifying the use of milk from sick animals by these facilities or the use of raw materials imported from other countries.

According to the documents submitted, the raw materials used in production had undergone laboratory testing and were deemed safe.

The Inspection Body remains committed to ensuring that the entire food production chain complies with the requirements established by food safety legislation.
