Kyrgyzstan: ethic tensions flare in Jalalabad

Kyrgyz troops had to shoot into the air in order to prevent clashes between the ethic Kyrgyz and Uzbek groups.

On Wednesday morning the Kyrgyz protesters stormed an Uzbek-founded university in Jalalabad, located in the south of the country. The crown threw stones at the building and demanded to arrest the leader of the Uzbek Diaspora in Kyrgyzstan, Kadyrjan Batyrov.

Then the protesters moved to Kadyrjan Batyrov’s house and were stopped by the troops, who time after time were shooting into air.
