“Only the OSCE Minsk Group is fruitful in Artsakh issue”

Today on the joint press conference with the President of the Armenian Republic Serzh Sargsyan the President of the Russian Federation touched upon the normalization process of the Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict settlement and mentioned that the other formats of the talks should be mutually acceptable for the all, the sides in that number.

To the question what the official Moscow thinks about the issue of changing the format of the NKR negotiation process, i.e. enlarging the staff of Minks Group co-chairs, or moving to another platform Dmitri Medvedev answered that the important thing is the result and not the institutes used. He added that the mediating institutes that are utilized or suggested should be mutually acceptable, for its sides in that number.

According to the RF president if the presented suggestions are suspicious or groundless, then they shouldn’t be obliged to accept them. At the same time he mentioned if, however the sides accept the new mediation Moscow will accept it too.

“The fruitfulness is the most important thing,” underlined D. Medvedev and added that today the mentioned fruitfulness is provided by the OSCE Minks Group.
