Necessary to break up Academy, says scientist

It’s necessary to break up Armenia’s National Academy and establish a new one, told media Director of the International Medical and Biological Center of the Ministry of Science and Education, Sinerik Hayrapetian.

He said that the Academy was established to serve the Soviet-era interests, while today it is a hotbed of corruption.

“Has anyone heard any proposal by any academician or a corresponding member over past 5 years? Who represented Armenia on the world stage?” asked Sinerik Hayrapetian pointing at the complicated situation at the Academy.
