Viewpoint:“Possibly Taron Margaryan will be appointed to Mayor”

On the conference the head of the “Heritage” party Raffi Hovhannisyan touched upon the issue of the vacant position of the mayor of Yerevan.

“I am far from predictions, but if we are to make any mathematical calculations it is possible that the new mayor of Yerevan will become Taron Margaryan,” he said.

It should be noted that according to the law on “Territorial Administration and Local Self- Government in Yerevan” temporally the mayor’s office will take the first deputy mayor of Yerevan RPA member Taron Margaryan. He will implement the responsibilities of the Mayor within 30 days during those days the council of elders has to appoint a new Mayor.

Within one month while the Mayor’s position is vacant elections for the Mayor are being held.
