Nobel Prize winner Sir Richard Timothy Hunt to arrive in Armenia
Armenia will be hosting lectures on achievements in genetics between February 20 and 26, Chairman of the Young Biologists Association Arsen Gasparyan told reporters in Yerevan. The lectures have been organized by Yerevan State University in cooperation with the Federation of the European Biochemical Societies.
The event is expected to host over 13 world-famous and 5 Armenian scientists. Sir Richard Timothy Hunt, Nobel Prize winner, English biochemist will arrive in Armenia for the event.
Foreign relations coordinator of the Young Biologists Association Hovakim Zakaryan said that scientists from U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Japan, France, countries of Eastern Europe and Russia have been invited to Armenia.
“Recent studies testify that genetic instability is one of the causes of cancer,” Zakaryan said adding that currently genetic instability is among the most topical issues in the world.
