Armenia marks Day of Homeland Defender

Armenia also marks the Day of Homeland Defender today, February 23, with festive events.

A solemn ceremony dedicated to the holiday has just finished at Yerevan Victory Park. The high command of the Armenian Armed Forces, representatives of the Russian Armed Forces in Armenia and Russian Embassy officials laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. A military parade took place with participation of Armenian and Russian military subdivisions.

From early morning a flow of veterans of the Great Patriotic, Afghan and Artsakh Wars has been coming to the park to lay flowers at the Eternal Fire.

Festive events are also held in Gyumri where the Russian military base is deployed.
