Japan’s quake death toll exceeds 11,000

The death toll from the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami in Japan has exceeded 11,000 people.

A total of 11,417 people have been confirmed dead, with 16,273 still unaccounted for, RIA Novosti reported citing the country’s National Police Agency.
