EU expects to have bigger role in NKR issue

EU wishes to have bigger role in supporting Armenia and Azerbaijan in connection with the NKR conflict settlement, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Baroness Catherine Ashton told in Brussels today.

According to her the EU is not an immediate mediator for the issue but it has appointed a special representative in the region, Philip Leforte. “One of the main themes will be the NKR conflict settlement. We will discuss what the EU council can do in that regard,” Catherine Ashton said.
