Germany follows Vardan Oskanyan’s case

“Vardan Oskanyan’s case is a special one and we will follow the process of implementation of justice very attentively,” said the German ambassador to Armenia Reiner Morell touching upon Vardan Oskanyan’s stripping of immunity.

“I do not know whether Oskanyan has done any wrong thing or not, and no one knows yet, it is Prosecutor’s office that is empowered to reveal the case,” R. Morell said and added that presumption of innocence acts in Germany and the assessment is made only when the person is being considered guilty by the court.

“Vardan Oskanyan should be given the chance to present what happened and how the money was spent,” said the ambassador and added that Oskanyan is still a very important figure in the social life.
