P. Hayrikyan: Oskanyan’s detention is political persecution

“Vardan Oskanyan has joined the 3 million RA citizens who do not have immunity and he shouldn’t be sad for that,” said Paruyr Hayrikyan the head of Union for Self-Determination talking about Vardan Oskanyan’s case.

He mentioned that it shouldn’t be stressed all the time that Oskanyan has for years been a Foreign Minister as everyone should be equal for the law, “In the same way Vardan Oskanyan was conducting prosecutions against the former Foreign Minister Alexander Arzumanyan.”

According to Hayrikyan if Oskanyan is arrested then it will serve an alert for everyone, “There exists a presumption of innocence, a person is considered to be innocent, before the court makes a decision. I will think political persecution is being implemented against Vardan Oskanyan if he is arrested now.”
