Vardan Oskanyan’s case in focus of PACE’s attention

The press service of the Prosperous Armenia Party issued a release which represents the statement of the PAP members of Armenian Delegation in PACE Naira Zohrabyan and Vahe Hovhannisyan.

The Statement reads as follows, “From October 2 to 5 attending the PACE Fall session as PACE MPs we inform that many PACE MPs and members of leading staff are seriously concerned with Vardan Oskanyan’s case and have offered their unconditional support to “Prosperous Armenia” Party and PAP member, Former RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan. All the political groups and national delegations have received a corresponding package and have been informed of the details of the case. However, the above mentioned groups had already been informed by their ambassadors accredited in Armenia of the case, and we have received serious guarantees that this case will be in focus of PACE’s attention. As PACE MPs we have been asked to inform the PACE any development concerning Vardan Oskanyan’s case. On its turn PACE promised to give an operational response.

Even more, in the result of discussions with different PACE officials we state that we are ready to give our place in the PACE delegation to Vardan Oskanyan understanding that being PACE MP gives the EU member country MP some additional immunity.
