Newly-founded party to support one of presidential candidates

«The party is at the stage of its formation and we want to solve the problems facing the youth. We are going to deal with educational problems as well,» Vagharshak Hakobian, Chairman of Democratic Armenia Youth Party, said at a meeting with reporters today, when discussing the establishment of Democratic Armenia Youth Party and the problems facing the party.

The fist convention of the party is scheduled to take place in one or two months.

«We have several hundred followers and will try to involve more and more members, » Hakobian said, adding that the party's sources of finance will consist of membership fees and they «are not dependent on anyone».

Deputy Chairman of the party Mkhitar Hayrapetian said that young people make up the core of the party and that their goal is to unite youth willing to solve the homeland's problems.

«We will announce our decision to support a presidential candidate after the convention to be held soon», M. Hayrapetian declared.
