Hovik Abrahamian. “I will invite you to a good place”

At the special session today, the deputies of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction, David Harutyunian and Arpine Hovhannisian submitted a bill on amendments and additions to the RA Law on the Rules of Procedure of the RA National Assembly. The bill was urgently submitted by the government. It proposes making a change to the Standing Committee of Ethics.

Stressing the necessity of the amendments, A. Hovhannisian said that now the seats of the Committee of Ethics are distributed by the principle of equality, but they should be distributed based on the proportionality of political forces.

ARFD deputy Artsvik Minasian asked A. Hovhannisian: “Why are you a co-author of this draft, although you are not a member of the Ethics Committee”.

In response, A. Hovhannisian said that he is a member of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs. A. Minasian noted that the indicated issue was not examined by the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.

The ARFD faction head Armen Rustamian intervened, saying that with such urgency the government is trying to change the result of the National Assembly’s long work, to which the NA speaker Hovik Abrahamian said: “Mr. Rustamian, what does your question mean? The HHK faction has examined the issue and applied to the government. Why do you think that the issue has not been discussed? And there is another thing: you are speaking to a woman so you should be more polite… I will invite you to a good place so that we will have a good time”.
