No need to eavesdrop on me: Aram Sargsyan speaks openly

The political field of Armenia has split into two parts. Either you should agree to cooperate with Armenian National Congress (HAK) and Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) or you are on Serzh Sargsyan’s side. I have rejected Serzh Sargsyan, Robert Kocharian, BHK (Prosperous Armenia Party) and I do not cooperate with them,” this is how the Chairman of “Republic” Party Aram Sargsyan commented on rumors about his cooperation with different political forces. At the start of the party’s convention today, he stated that he was against HAK-BHK cooperation from the very beginning.

“There is no need to eavesdrop on me. In general, I am one of those political figures who never keep any secrets. I consider eavesdropping and then publicizing an eavesdropped conversation as spy methods used by the KGB. This is immoral. I never stand beside my son when he is speaking on the phone. It is a matter of upbringing,” the leader of Republic Party said.

It is noteworthy that among those invited to attend the convention of Republic Party were Raffi Hovannisian and Armen Martirosian (Heritage Party), Hrant Bagratian (Freedom Party), Petros Makeyan (Homeland and Honor Party), Aram Karapetian (New Times Party), Alexander Arzumanian (Free Democrats Party), David Shahanazarian (Accord Party) and others. Representatives of Armenian All-National Movement (HHsh) Party were not present at the convention.

Aram Sargsyan explained that he did not invite HHSh members so as not to put them in an awkward position: they were going to criticize HHSh, too, at the convention.
