537 dog bite cases recorded in Yerevan this year

2,855 people asked to be vaccinated against rabies in 2011 in Armenia (including 1,111 people in Yerevan); 3,002 people asked to be vaccinated against rabies in 2010 (1,019 in Yerevan), Aysor.am was informed by the press service of the RA Ministry of Health.

According to Head of the Yerevan Municipality’s Health Department Gayane Antonian, 537 people bitten by dogs applied to 22 policlinics of Yerevan in eleven months of 2012 – 386 of them were bitten by pets and 181 by stray dogs.
