“Armenia should renounce Armenian-Turkish protocols”

“The 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will affect the Armenian-Turkish process, and Turkey, having signed the Armenian-Turkish protocols, did not allow Armenia and the Armenians to achieve any results in the Armenian Genocide international recognition process,” Head of Modus-Vevendi Center Ara Papian said at a press conference today, when commenting on Armenian-Turkish relations and the current geopolitical developments in the Middle East.

He noted that he is against the Armenian-Turkish protocols and that Armenia should withdraw its signature from the protocols.
“ do not object to normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations, but it should not be done on this basis,” Papian said.

In his opinion, the Middle East developments should be used in such a way that they could serve the Armenian interests. The Armenian, Kurdish, and Syrian factors should be used to curb the influence of Turkey in the Middle East. “Within the context of neoosmanism policy, Turkey is trying to restore and strengthen its positions in the Islamic world and become its leader”.
