A. Martirosian: Great efficiency cannot be expected from this parliament

Great efficiency cannot be expected from this parliament,” deputy chairman of Heritage Party Armen Martirosian said at a press conference today.
“The new parliament does not correspond to our notions. The political elite rather than “district authorities” should have been here,” he noted.

In his words, the 2012 parliamentary elections were also rigged, but this time in a more civilized manner than in the past.
“This time there was no atmosphere of beating and ballot stuffing, but the authorities resorted to the technique of inflated voter lists, also to electoral bribery and total use of administrative resource. But there was an improvement as well: the press was freer. Thanks to my activities, additions have been made to the Electoral Code, as a result of which the price of pre-election advertising on television has been reduced,” he said.
In his words, supervision of election violations is the task of law enforcers and not of the opposition.

As regards cooperation with the Free Democrats Party, Martirosian said it is correct cooperation, although some problems have arisen with Khachatur Kokobelian.
