Yerevan residents mostly satisfied with changes over past year

78% of Yerevan residents assessed the changes in the capital city over the past year as positive. 6% assessed these changes as negative, 4% - very negative.

The Armenian Marketing Association and Gallup International Association’s Armenia Office released “Yerevan Residents about Yerevan” survey. 

Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan announced the survey results.

“A rather interesting questionnaire was formulated; the questions are related to almost all the annual community programs and the situation in the city. Positive indices are obvious, while the worrying results of the survey are related to serious questions. 78% positive index is noteworthy, which means that we must do more for our city and our residents,” Areyan stated. 
When asked to indicate positive changes, 18% of Yerevan residents indicated a growth in green areas, 17% - improvement of yards, 13% noticed new benches, 7% – new playgrounds.

“Although planting of trees and shrubs was the most frequently indicated positive change, 41% of respondents expect more active programs in this sphere. When asked to indicate the most desirable measure, 29% indicated construction of playgrounds, 28% - organization of cultural events, and another 28% - organization of volunteer labor days on some Saturdays,” is said in the press release of the Yerevan Municipality’s Information and PR Department.
