6 candidates so far submit applications for external advertising

Only 6 of the 15 candidates nominated to run in the February 18 presidential election have submitted - until the deadline, January 4 - applications for placing election campiagn posters on advertising panels whose surface exceeds five square meters, Pastinfo news agency reports.

Such applications have been submitted by leader of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) Serzh Sargsyan, Chairman of Freedom Party, parliamentary deputy Hrant Bagratian, Chairman of National Self-Determination Union party Paruyr Hayrikian, Chairman of National Accord party Aram Harutyunian, Chairman of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian, and President of Radio Hay LLC Andreas Ghukasian.

The Central Election Commission will make a decision on the right to place campaign posters on advertising panels. The right to place posters on those panels, regarding which only one application has been submitted, will be reserved for the candidate who submitted that application. The remaining panels, for which more than one application was submitted, will be distributed on a competitive basis. 

Based on the number of panel sides to be given to each candidate, an electronic drawing of lots will be organized. Two sides of the same panel will be given to two different candidates.
